PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY PROBATE/FIDUCIARY OFFICE

1. Overview

The Prince William County Probate/Fiduciary Office puts to record (probate) wills and qualifies executors or administrators of deceased person’s estates. The Probate Office also processes guardian appointments and qualifications on Court Orders for appointment of Conservators of incapacitated individuals. An appointment is needed.

To schedule a probate/qualification appointment, you must complete the Prince William - Probate Pre-Appointment Worksheet and return it to the Probate Office. Within two days of receipt a probate clerk, either Alan Jones or Deborah Armstrong, will call to discuss what was sent and to set up an appointment if needed.

Generally, qualifications take around 15 minutes, as they will have all forms that need to be executed by you completed in advance.
